228 Accused MN, SD, ND Clerics

Bishops, regardless of what they say in public or have written in their  “US policy,” have not climbed off their donkeys to help the attacked survivors with shattered innocent souls. It is a known fact the bishops will not take wounded and bleeding survivors to an inn for healing and recovery.

The bishops don’t want the full truth about sexual abuse by clergy to step from the shadows of silence and emerge into the sunshine.  In the reflections of the many tears from my advocacy journeys - I step from the silent shadows to light the following truths:             Bob Schwiderski

Native Americans have suffered physical, mental, spiritual, verbal, and sexual abuse in the Indian Mission Boarding Schools at their very beginnings going back to the mid-1880s. Generations of NA children were victimized by pedophile priests, brothers, nuns, and sisters assigned to the Indian Mission Schools on or near Indian Reservations. Very little justice has been won for the survivors, Tamaki Law Offices in Yakima, WA filed a lawsuit against the Oregon Province Society of Jesus aka Rocky Mountain Jesuits, and were principally responsible for a settlement of $167.1M on behalf of 200 Yupik and Inuit in Alaska, and 250 Native Americans in WA, ID, OR, and Montana in 2011. However, since then SD changed its child sex abuse law; SDCL 26-10-25 virtually eliminating the rights of Native Americans to file lawsuits for childhood sex abuse resulting in 100s of abuse claims being dismissed on statute of limitations issues in that state. The Catholic Church has proven to be an implacable foe in the legal system, even using its own attorney to initiate changes to the laws to protect the church as happened in South Dakota. Priests, Brothers, Nuns are getting away with criminal actions for abusing children due the expirations of the criminal statute of limitations, and civil actions that are dismissed on technicalities on not on the merits of the cases. Fewer and fewer survivors of childhood sex abuse can even find an attorney to help them anymore. No justice, no compensation, not even an apology for the abuse of a child can be won anymore.. it is harder and harder for the victims of abuse to win. This is just plain wrong. The Catholic Church has shown no sympathy for victims, no pastoral view toward them at all, it remains a matter of money to the church, and they are not willing to compensate victims.

Full disclosure. Children and all vulnerable people need the utmost protection. Abuse must always be a zero tolerance area. No secular teacher would have a chance at another job with children if convicted of any charges like these. -Ed.

States all over the world must stop letting these people go scott-free, to be “dealt with” by their religious superiors! These criminals have sexually abused or assaulted people, generally defenceless minors, so they have to face justice, receive punishment, and their victims have to be compensated! Everyone who has suffered any degree of sexual abuse from a religious priest or minister or imam, etc., should form an international group and campaign to their local police and politicians.
